A Sweet Mini Notepad Tutorial!

Hi, everybody! Suzanne here, with a sweet mini notepad tutorial to share with you today! This project is one you could get started on for stocking stuffer gifts for the holidays, or just a small anytime gift for a friend!

First, gather your supplies:
  • colored stamped image (I'm using Oliver from the new "Oliver and Amelia Valentine" set)
  • cardstock strip (3.5" x 11")
  • mini notepad (this one measures 3.25" x 5.5")
  • 2 rectangles patterned paper (measuring 3.5" x 5.25")
  • decorative or washi tape
  • strong adhesive/double stick tape

Start by layering your patterned paper on top of the cardstock strip. If you're using a striped pattern like I did, check to make sure it will face the right way when the notepad cover is folded.

Next, I reinforced the place where the notepad cover folds by wrapping washi tape between the two patterned paper rectangles. You'll see on the next photo that it's also wrapped on the underside.

I find it's easier to keep the wrapped tape straight by leaving a little tail on one side to mark the end of the tape strip, then wrapping it under when you fasten the tape to the inside of the cover.

To attach the notepad, I used some strong double stick tape and adhered the back of the notepad to the bottom inside of the cover.

Then, just add your stamped image to the front of the cover, stamp and adhere a sentiment if you'd like, and your gift is ready! A nice additional gift would be a fun pen or mechanical pencil, and you're all set!

I wouldn't add bulky embellishments to these in case someone wants to carry it along in a bag or purse. I think they are cute just like this!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my tutorial today, and will make some of these soon!

(You can also change the dimensions of the cover for a different sized notepad. I happened to find these at an office supply store in a 3-pack for just a few dollars.)

Hugs,
