Heart Journaling: Week 2
Hey Class! Wow what a whirlwind week!!! We are totally loving all the artwork that's being uploaded into the He'art' Journaling folder!!! Oh before I forget: Please remember to title your upload with the 'WEEK' that it's designated for and put it in your Folder. It'd make it much easier for us to go through. For eg: YOUR_NAME_WEEK2.jpg
So before we go onto this week's assignment, I'd like to showcase just a few of the fabulous works that we had the pleasure of viewing, including mine. :)

Top Crop Tuesday with Jen
Happy Tuesday everyone! It's Jen here bringing you another Top Crop Tuesday post. I've been combing the gallery this week to find some fabulous creations to help jump start your creativity!
This gorgeous creation by Danielle Daws jumped right out at me as soon as I saw it. I love the bold dark values against the pale pastels... it's such a dramatic combination.

This funky card from Beansscrapandsheep really struck me as I LOVE the shape and all the fantastic layers paired up with a bit of bling.
And this last bit of inspiration this week comes from Dictionary. This project is just all around gorgeous and calls to my love of designer paper. I just adore how she managed to make both the image and the paper stand out... not to mention I'm a sucker for orange.
Well that's it for me today. I hope you enjoyed these gallery finds and will drop by and leave some love for the lovely ladies who made these.
It's also time for me to sign off as the July Guest Farmer. It's been my great privilege to hang out with y'all this month and I won't be saying goodbye but "see you again soon" as I'll still be hanging around The Farm as much as I can. To the new crop of Farmers... you ladies are just ROCKIN' IT! It's been a wonderful time working with you this month and I can't wait to see what gorgeous things are in store for us as new previews start making their way to your blogs. To Jess and Marie... there just aren't words enough to express how fabulous I think you are and I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for giving me another opportunity to design for you. It's been my great pleasure. :)
Happy Tuesday everyone!

Designer Spotlight With Farmer Kim
Hello TGF fans! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
Farmer Kim here today to share a little about, well, me! I am still super duper excited to be designing for TGF for the next few months! I am looking forward to sharing a wide range of TGF cards/projects with everyone!
I started crafting not too long after high school but I didn't really get into card making until after I had my daughter, a little over two years ago.
While I was on maternity leave, I discovered cardmaking and blogging one day while surfing on the net. Since then, cardmaking has become a passion, a part of my life! Yes, I sacrifice a lot of my sleeping time for crafting! LOL
What''s my style? Hmm..to be honest, I really don't know how to define my own style. I guess my style is in between the elaborate "over the top" style and the clean and simple style. You do however see some of these styles in my work sometimes. But one thing for sure, I LOVE 3D projects! I love to see and make them! I am always wondering what we can do with papers, especially combined with stamping! I am amazed at all the wonderful projects out there!
Today, I am sharing this matchbox four-drawer chest with matching card using Blush Bonnie and the sentiment from Blush Babette.
This chest is very simple to make. I simply made four match boxes and stacked them together! This chest measures 4x3x3.

Well, that's about it for now. I shall share more about myself and my crafts soon! Thank you for stopping by today! Have a great week, everyone!

edit...
Oops I meant the deadline is Thursday July 28th, NOT 18th. HAHAHAHA! Sorry! And today is the last day you can still register.
Heart Journaling: Week 1
Good morning class!!!! First off, WOWWW we have over 100 participants! OK! Our super fun and creative journey starts today! Over the course of 23 weeks we will be working on an art journal spread every week. Each week will have a different theme/concept. Remember that this is your own personal journey so please do not feel that you have to create a certain way. This is to help you open up creative mind, to try new methods or techniques that you've never tried before, and just basically step out of your comfort zone.
OH and please check to see if your name folder is in our classroom roster: http://www.tgfllc.com/galleria/showgallery.php?cat=1173 if you do not see it, please contact us at thegreetingfarm@gmail.com so we can add it in or make any changes.
Before we go on, I'd like to address a few concerns:
Not necessary to use any TGF stamps, this is YOUR journal, do what you want cuz you rule that journal!
How does this work: Every Friday for the next 23 weeks we will be posting up a new concept for you to work on your art journal spread. All spreads are due the following Thursday by noon cst. We start marking off assignments by 12:30pm cst so please make sure you get it in on time so we can credit you. By the end of 23 weeks, all who has completed every assignment on time will be getting a special gift.
DUE DATES: Very important! If you are unsure if you will be able to upload on time, please upload your assignments earlier in the week than the very last minute like 11:59pm. Better too early than too late. If you cannot upload or miss the deadline for whatever reason, your project may not be accounted for. Because there are so many participants we have to be super strict on the deadline. Otherwise we'll have dozens of people emailing us with reasons why they were late or something was wrong or dog ate their pages, etc. The minute 12:30pm cst hits, we will start marking off and reviewing assignments in the gallery, no buts about it.
Make-Up pages: I received a few emails regarding missed weeks and making up spreads. Unfortunately because there are over a hundred spreads for us to review each week, we won't be able to count any missed work. If you miss a deadline or week, you can always go back on your own time and work on it but it will not be accounted for.
Dropping Out: If you find you don't really have the time for this or that this isn't your 'thing', you may drop out anytime no questions asked.
Supplies: Many of you asked what supplies you needed to participate. There is no 'official list' of supplies but I compiled a small list of stuff would be helpful although not necessary. I don't want you to feel that if you do not have a certain product or media that you cannot work on your spread. Working with what you have onhand is probably the best and more convenient process. Please do not go out and break you bank on a million different coloring medias unless you really want to. Chances are you probably already have a lot of supplies that you can work with. So here are some items that I think can be handy but not necessary. Mostly you'd just need your imagination.
List of Possible supplies -
acrylic paints
watercolors
pastels
permanent marker
crayons
copics
charcoal
some sort of waterproof pen
fabric/canvas
glitter
old magazine scraps
old photos
gesso, soft gel medium, or any other medium
stickers
glue
More than anything I hope that our journey together will help open up the world of art journaling to you and I hope that you are doing this more for your own personal creative resume rather than for the prize at the end. Even if you miss a week or two, I still hope you continue to work in your journal 'just because'. This project is you being true to you. Besides if you are really only just working to get the gift at the end, what if the gift was really lame. So in reality, your true gift/prize is your completed or 'in progress' art journal! :)
Ok enough babbling, here we go with our first week! and a few of some beautiful art journal covers from our participants....
