BATTLE WEEK 2
The Easel Card
  sample by Jodi-Ann

The Challenge: Create an easel card!  Here is a tutorial I found on how to make an easel card: http://www.stampinmoments.com/easel-card-tutorial.html
What teams need to do: Discuss amongst your team members who will be creating this card. Only one member will be doing this. The member will have to email their team leader their finished project. This must be a different member than the previous. Every week we want to see a new member participating so that every team members gets a chance to show off their skills!

Due Date: Team Leaders will need to email me the final project no later than Saturday, April 3rd, 11:59pm. You can email your projects as early as you wish.
Please email me at: thegreetingfarm@gmail.com
Subject Heading: Battle Week 2
Please include: Your team name in the email and also the member who did the project. Please name your file with your team name. For example: MyTeam_week2.jpg

Teams are not to upload their projects. TGF will be in charge of uploading everyone's projects.

Voting: Voting/commenting will last Sunday-Tuesday evening. Everyone has 3 days to cast their vote, so don't feel rushed. It's actually better if you all don't vote at the same time and crash the website. haha.

All entries will be located in the
galleria > contests/challenges > TGF ROYAL BATTLE > Week 2.

Please DO NOT vote/comment on your own team. Each person can vote 3 times so please select your top 3 favorites and vote for them. Please only vote once per card. Please DO NOT create different ids to vote for your own team.

Next Wednesday we will announce the top 25 teams that will go onto the next round. So best of luck to everyone and remember... more than anything, HAVE FUN!

Today's question is: How many framed pictures do you have on your wall?

Ohhh... easy. I have 2. ahahaha how sad is that?

Get Well and a Good Cause...

Hello everyone!

We're back with another fun preview today using the new "Get Well" set designed by Marina Neira.

Even more heartwarming, we are calling all of YOU to action by heading up a CHARITY CARD DRIVE for sick children and their families this week.   Tomorrow you will hear more about that from Jessica and be given instructions on how you can enter this card drive and put a smile on the faces of not only a sick child, but hopefully their parents, siblings, and all who are affected by all of the heartbreaking illnesses out there.  We have been wanting to do this for some time and I'm really happy about it; can't wait to see how many cards we can collect for this wonderful cause!

We are also really excited about release day tomorrow AND the announcement of this contest.  Because it will be the focus of the TGF Release this month, sans Blog Hops, etc...we have put together a HUGE prize for this contest, so stay tuned!   In addition, there will be prizes given away tomorrow on our Release Day so be sure to stop by the TGF Blog for the Official Contest rules but also a comment contest tomorrow....who DOESN'T like a little immediate gratification ;)

In fact, ONE LUCKY WINNER will be chosen today from ONE of our blogs to WIN this "Get Well" set by Marina!  WE don't even know who's hiding it...so be sure to make your rounds (heehee, just like a doctor would to "Get WELL!") if you have the time and GOOD LUCK to all!

Be sure to stop by the blogs of:

Sparkle

See you back here tomorrow!

A little more FYI

Happy go lucky Tuesday! I hope you all have been hopping over to Club Anya the past few days to see all the snazzy previews of the upcoming new releases!

Also I will touch on a topic that several people have emailed me about in regards to the Battle contest and voting.
  • Anyone and everyone can vote.
  • Each person has only 3 votes but you can only vote once per card. If a person has voted more than once on an entry, we will delete the extra votes.
  • Please do not create numerous ids for yourself to cast more votes.  This was a concern from numerous people so we will be double checking all comments and deleting any 'extra' votes.

Voting will end tonight at midnight cst. We will start tallying up the comments after midnight and the list for Round 2 will be up tomorrow morning. Good luck to everyone! You all did fabulously and most of all I hope that you've made new friends and had fun!

Today's question is: Do you have any pets?

Yup! My two naughty Boston Terriers, Stewie and Bailey!

    A little Update

Hi Friends! The voting for the contest has started! But there were a few teams whose card were accidentally not in the gallery early this morning that I had to re-upload. My deepest apologies to those teams but please understand that voting does not end til Tuesday so there's still a lot of time.

Also because of this situation, I will be changing this week's finalists count from 30 to 45. So now 15 more teams have a chance of going into the next round.

    Saturday, March 27, 2010

    Hey There!

I just wanted to drop in and say WOW all the entries for the Royal Battle are retro-fabulous!!!! OMIGOSH, I have no idea how yall are gonna decide who to vote for. I did get a few inquiries about teams wanted to post their projects on their blogs this week to generate more votes, views and that is fine by me if you want to do that.

I will start posting them in the gallery > Contest/Challenges > TGF ROYAL BATTLE > Week 1 later this evening so if you have not sent in your team card yet, please do so by midnight cst. I will not disqualify you if you send it in late but remember we have only 3 days to vote so you want to get it in asap so that you get longer exposure to our voters and readers.

    Good luck everyone!

    Kits vs Singles vs Digis

A great happy Tuesday to you all. I have a lot of packaging today, which I dread. And I'm going off tangent here but here's a business tip for you guys. If you ever decide to start your own business, you may be want to look into electing your business as an S-corp so that you don't get so heavily taxed at the end of the year. It's something I wished somebody told me when I started this. Wahhhh. Oh well, live and learn.

So thank you everyone for your input from yesterday's entry in regards to the big kits. Today I wanted to touch base on a few points that was brought up yesterday.

A Little FYI on the bigger kits
The kits are 8.5x11, untrimmed rubber on cling foam, just like the normal TGF stamps. I actually have the samples in my hands right now and they really are gorgeous. The spacing between each character is wide enough so trimming will be easy. And yes these characters are the same size as all the other Wild Sprout characters so altering is limitless. haha. I'm sure no other stamp characters get head-swapped as much as TGF images.

    Why Bigger Kits
Although the majority is fine with this kit and chose 'A' as their answer, I know there are some who are less thrilled about it. Unfortunately I won't be able to release the characters in the kit as 'single' images, due to time and production and re-packaging costs. The biggest reason why I'm testing out the kit is because we have so many characters and so little time and so many people wanted certain digis to be rubber, I figured it was a good option to get a good mix of that into a bigger set for a discounted price. But as stated before, we are still going to have singles as usual and if we do more kits, it will be probably only 3-4 times a year. The kits will only be a 'once in a while' thing.

Will the Bigger Kits affect Shipping?
At this time, shipping will remain the same. If there is ever any changes regarding shipping, I will always let you know ahead of time.

Can We Get Them as Digis?
Another point that was brought up was if not singles, why not digi? I have a pretty strict policy on keeping digi as digi and rubber as rubber and not crossing over images. The biggest reason being that I like the exclusivity. I honestly feel that if an image is available as a digi, many will most likely not purchase the image in rubber since they already have that image. And being that TGF is a rubber stamp company, I really want to focus on getting as many in rubber as I can. There are exceptions though however, if I get enough 'demands' of a certain digi to be rubberize, I will do that. As you can see, in the Roll Call kit, there is the 'Flirty Edward', 'Jeremy', and 'Odette'. These 3 will be taken off the digi section once Roll Call releases. I generally do not turn a rubber image into digi... BUT I am considering maybe doing that with the discontinued images. So we will see. We do currently have an extensive digi collection and am very proud of that too.

Why Don't You Offer all  TGF images in both Rubber & Digi?

As stated in the above answer, I prefer to keep both platforms separated. Also as an artist who has had several images stolen in the past, I am always a little bit more skeptical when I turn my images into digis. Digi images make it really super easy for 'stealers' to manipulate and reproduce into practically anything. A few months ago, I actually found someone who turned one of our digis into rubber stamp!!! So by separating part of the images into rubber and then the other into digi, I feel it lessens that possibility a little more. And a little more means a lot to TGF.

    But Marie! It's not fair!!!
I know. I know that there will be some of you that only want maybe a few of the characters in the kit and it is not worth it for you to purchase the entire kit. I really really thought about this, that is why we decided on the pricing to be as it is instead of its real value. But we'll do something extra for those who are on the fence about it, after the Battle contest is over, I will have a presale on it and I will do it for $45 plus free shipping. This will help save a couple more bucks. :)

Ok so I hope that answers a few questions. If you have additional questions, on just anything, just let me know. Tomorrow is Wednesday! Are ye excited?! I am! Until then, have a great day!

The first week is going to be the toughest because by next week, only about half of this list will go on. These battles are going to be fierce and fast so everyone on their toes ok?! The first challenge will be on announce on Wednesday on this blog. What will happen (and I'll repeat this again on Wednesday) is the challenge will be announce and each team will decide which one of their members will take on the challenge. That member will do the project and email the finished project to the Team Leader which will need to get it in to me by Saturday before Midnight. I will be posting up all the teams' creations on Sunday morning, in which the voting/commenting will start. Voting lasts until Tuesday evening (midnight) so everyone doesn't have to feel rushed to vote and crash the site. ahahaha! Then I will post up the teams that will go on into the next round on Wednesday's post. Team Leaders, please remember that when you submit the project to me, please name your file with your team name and also let me know which member did it. This will make it easier when I upload the entries into the gallery.

Next up, this week's digi giveaway. I will be giving this cutie to 10 people instead of 5 this week, so 2 people a day will be randomly selected. I've had several people in the past and present request a drummer and have put it off because drums are hard to draw!!! But I did bust my behind this weekend and here you go! He also has a modern trendy mohawk (called faux hawk) since Ray says the traditional mohawk is outdated. LOL! This little drummer would be too big for a stamp but I thought I could make him a digi and then you guys can shrink him as needed to fit your projects.

    This Week's Digi Giveaway

    The Drummer

Another fab thing about this image is that because the drums are in front of him, you can actually erase him out and put any of our loveable TGF characters behind the drums. Alter, my friends, the power of altering. Ok so remember to leave comment if ye want this wee fellow here.

Also I know many of you are asking for releases dates of these creepies and I am working as fast as I can to get them out to you asap!

Today's question is: TGF has a million new images we want to release.
Because there isn't enough months in the year to, we decided to put a lot of new images on one big sheet of rubber like the Roll Call kit below. Otherwise some of these images will not make it to release until 2014. lol!

This set is valued at about $90 something but we will be retailing it for about $48. We would like to know your response to this. Of course we will not do all future designs like these, but we thought maybe once in a while, it will be nice to have a kit like this. What do you think?

    a) Totally! It's more pricey but hey I get 10 characters for almost half the price!!!
    b) Meh... it doesn't matter to me.
    c) No way, that is too expensive. Release them one single at a time.

    A Quickie

before I sign out for the week. haha. I was just packaging stamps when I got the itchy fingers to start doodling and coloring so I did go through everyone's suggestions and here are two very fabulously creeper boys for the girls! There are a lot of great suggestions which I will be using in future creeper designs so keep an eye out for them. I hope you guys like these two.

This guy, I did the high top converse type of shoes with the torn skinny jeans. He seems a little rock and a little emo. haha.

This 2nd guy, I did the 'fallen angel' look, a little more gothic and yes he does come with wings!

Ok NOW i'm out. Turn in tomorrow for FFF and then I will see you all on Monday with the official teams, digi winners, and new digi of the week. Ta ta!
