Girly Tri-fold

Ahhhh another beginning of another crafty week! I hope everyone is doing well and hoping working on fantastic projects. I've been working on xmas cards for my family in Fresno and also trying to do different things with the cards. Oh and I think someone asked about the dimensions of my Notepad Easel card... it is 3.5"x5.5" closed. If you do not know how to make an easel card, here is a nice tutorial on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QPHOkRukeQ

So on Saturday, I discovered that I too can make a tri-fold card. Whoa... slow down, first an easel card and now a tri-fold???? Yes I am daddling in dangerous waters here. I am by far no Kim Nath here when it comes to original card altering and manifesting but I was pretty proud of my dinky tri-fold. hehe. :)

I used Cheeky Rockabilly (which btw is back in stock) for this card because she's so fun and girly AND the dots on her dress matched the paper. haha. Also there is a pocket on the front so you can pull out the tag with message on it.

Here is a sneak at how it opens. I'm kinda stuck at what to put on the inside so this is as far as you get to see. I think I'll put another pocket in there and a place for photo so it can be kinda like a little scrapbook card. I considered this pretty complex for my usual style... hahaha. The lesson today friends is: If Marie can, you can too!

Today's question is: How often do you do stitching on your cards?

Just only recently but I have feeling I'm gonna be stitching every other card I make from now it. It just adds some sort of a 'finished' touch to it.

Gorgeous card Marie! I just absolutely LOVE the colors and design, great job.
Stitching huh? Well, I do not own a sewing machine, nor do I trust myself around needles! LOL So, I never do actual stitching. HOWEVER, I do have these fantabulous faux stitching stamps, that I LOVE to use on cards. So, I kinda fake it. hehehe I love the finished look

Your card is absolutely stunning. I don't stitch very often on my cards because I only have a mini sewing machine that I cannot stitch straight with for the life of me! But I have just borrowed my mum's big machine and when I remember am going to try that out to see if I can actually do better with a proper sewing machine. If I can then I will probably invest in one, but it's not worth it at the minute. I did just buy the We Are memory Keepers Sew Easy kit which I have yet to use as well. See I have all these good intentions - just never do them!

I agree stitching adds something to cards but it is difficult. I can sew and have a machine but I find it hard to stop the freys happening at beginning and end and the corners are hard. Love the card by the way. I love all cards that are a little different to the norm.

awww, Marie, this is just darling... I love all the pink frills. I love your layout and pull out tag. But the sewing... LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. I WISH I could sew like that, but for some reason, my sewing machine ALWAYS Jams. And since I am not a seemstress, I don't know the first thing about how to keep it from doing that.
Big Hugs,
Lynda

Whoa! What an advanced technique Marie! Seriously, your cards are so amazing! It has your siggy style to it (uh yeah, after all it's your images!) - love the stitching. DH bought me a Janome for Christmas last year so I can't stop using it. I do curvy lines though to mask my bad stitching. heehee!

Love that card! I like ones with fun folds.

As far as stitching, I only do faux since my sewing machine is put away & too much trouble to get it out.

Lovely card! I think stitching looks so nice on a card, but if I do it then it's usually faux stitching! :)

I go through phases of stitching on my cards. I don't own a sewing machine so it's all done by hand so it does depend on the recipient too x

I love the card!

GORGEOUS card marie!!! WOW!!! I'm so happy to see you making more and more cards... they are lovely!

About that stitching... I only stitch when forced... I really WANT to stitch more but just can't make myself do it. :D

I love this card, does anyone know a good tutorial for a tri-fold card? I would like to try one.

Lets see first things first...EXCELLENT CARD! Love the way you did your fold on this one.

As for stitching? I love the look of stitching but don't do it as often as I'd like. My sewing machine is in hiding and I hope to give it a convenient home in the near future so I can stitch more of everything! I'm so behind on sewing projects too.

Smiles!

Hope you are feeling well!

Gwen

Your card is sweet! I have used stiching only once on a card xD I don't wanna do it by hand you see. I actually do own a sewing machine, but I don't have room for it in my single apartment. Maybe I'll sew something next time I visit my dear Mom :P

looks at you - go Marie!! :) your card is adorable. I stitching on probably 75% of my cards. Usually it's just a basic straight stitching around the edge to add a mini border, but sometimes I'll do some zigzag too. :)

oh my you are amazing! love that card! :) I love stitching, just that I'm lazy currently to drag my sewing machine out... Maybe after revamping my room I might just have the zest to do that! :)
