Who's up for some WASHI?

Yep, I'm feelin' generous today ;0)    It's me Jess!  Marie will be back to say hi to y'all tomorrow, but today I thought we'd do a little giveaway ;)

So if you guys haven't seen or heard,  Japanese Washi tape is one of the fastest-growing trends in papercrafting! We've seen it on different crafty company blogs and think that this fun and funky (and FORGIVING!) embellie is finally getting the attention it deserves :)

Did you know that TGF has been carrying Washi in the store for a while now?  We have a SUPER fun array of colors and patterns, and TODAY we are giving away ONE ROLL of Washi tape to a lucky commenter!  You just need to comment by 10pm CST tonight and we'll announce the winner when Marie comes back in the morning!

Tell us what YOU think you would use Washi for and if you've ever dabbled in it!  We would love to hear your answers!

I have to admit I was stumped for ideas on how to use this fun stuff at first, but I'm LOVING some examples I've seen, and actually, for the amount you get it's a VERY affordable embellishment too (I'm one to use a $4 pearl flourish on one card and I really can't afford to keep doing that, LOL)

Here's some INSPIRATION that WASH'd up at the Farm:

From Team Anya:

Donna

Kelly

Jessica

From Critter Crew:

Jen

From Farmers:

Randi

Well,  I'm off to grab myself a cuppa Joe and hopefully get crafty this afternoon!  The hubs is home and I NEED to get ahead...at least of this week, haha.   ENJOY your summer day, everyone!

Wow, is it possible that I really am the first to comment? heehee I have been seeing the tape of cards now and think it is fun. I have been wanted to get some from the farm, but when I place my orders lately an addition stamp seems to win each time. :D I would love to give it a try on my cards though. So far I haven't any specific ideas just want to try. lol Hugs, Lisa G

I've seen this tape, but I have often wondered how to incorporate it into the design of a card. I really appreciate all the beautiful examples! I guess I would use it in much the same way.... Thanks for the opportunity to win some!

Yay! a Giveaway! I have been itching to get some Washi Tape. I would love to use it on my cards, but I also thought it'd be fun to tape my envelopes closed, or use it at work for all the little notes I tape up all over the place.

I haven't purchased any Washi tape from TGF but I have seen it in some Japanese bookstores. I love how versatile it can be used and how interesting it looks on cards as a decorative adhesive. Lookin' fwd to trying it out. I love how Randi uses it and how the rest of the DT has gotten inspired. Arigato!

I have never used it but I really want to. I think it would be great for several things. For the most part I would use it for embellishing cards and wrapping gifts.

I've never used Washi tape before but I like the samples that I've seen where it's being used like a ruffled ribbon. I can never get an actual ribbon to do it right, so the Washi would be great.

These are great samples - lovely ideas. I have to admit, I'm still stumped on how to incorporate it and it's been in then out of my shopping cart several times. But I love Donna's card! I could CASE that and be very happy. :-)

I would use in place of ribbons, as borders maybe to break up different solid colours. I've seen the stuff and have wanted to get some to try!

What a fun giveaway!
I have not used Washi tape before but would love a chance to do so!!

I think I would use it on cards, and am wondering about trying it with the fun "faux leather" technique that uses masking tape.
Hmmmm...just thinking! tehe

Have a great day!

Wow, you guys are just too sweet. I have wanted to get some of this for a long time now, but everytime I place an order lately I decide to go with an extra stamp instead...lol What can I say I don't have all your stamps yet. heehee...I am working on it though. As for how I would use it...hmmmm one my cards as background, ribbon or just stamp on it as and extra part of the card or scrapbook page. I would sure love to give it a try however. Thanks for everything. Lisa G

HI all, I love Washi Tape. I started dabbing in it 4 years ago when I lived in Tokyo and I fell in love. I have made cards and scrap pages with it. I Love adding some at Christmas time to make my presents pop. I also have made home decor with it. Recently I sent Marie some card samples where I used the colors that are carried by The Farm. I used the tapes to color the images in along with Copics to make the images pop. If you want to see some samples stop by my blog. Hope I win cause I ran out, that is how much I use it. hehe. good luck to all

I have seen the tape in your store and wondered what it was all about but never seen it (or maybe never noticed it used on a card or project before) but I got to say it looks pretty cool on your demo cards and I love the look so I would love to win some to have a go
All the cards are as always great

Ooooo - looks like fun! Hmmmmmm I would use it on boxes - I reckon it would be really useful to decorate things that are difficult to stick onto. When I try and stick ribbon onto boxes I often press too hard and squish the box! This looks ideal and will hopefully mean my boxes will remain unsquished!!!

I have used it on cards. I saw a cute project for a mini album using Washi tape as the decoration and seam binder. Most often it is used like ribbon.

Diane said...

Oh that is so neat! I think I would use it as ribbon or just a border,so many diff ideas you could use it for!
Thanks for a chance to win!!

I haven't yet used the washi tape. It looks fun and funky. I keep watching the many varied samples and I think I'm ready to purchase some. Still not sure exactly how I will use it but I'm sure the inspiration will come when I finally purchase some!!!

I have not used the Washi tape yet, but i would use it as ribbon, i would try to do different techniques with it.

I ordered some last week but it just came yesterday & I haven't had a chance to use it. I liked the lacy look of the black on a card I saw last week, so that's what I got to use for lace.

JenRaff said...

I haven't used any yet but wherever any other embellishment would go, tape could go. I have like what the DT have been showing lately on their cards! :)

Helen said...

I've never used this tape before, but I'd love to give it a try! I think I'd use it much as I would a small strip of paper or ribbon. :)

Jessica said...

I've never used it but would love to try it out! It would be fun for doing a pleated border on a card!

Stampi said...

I have not used the product but have seen it used. I think it would be great for edging on cards and to hole photos in layouts..I love all the colours and designs ..beautiful

Donna said...

I have used it and I use it just like I use ribbon.

Alexis said...

I love the way the tape is used on the first card. I haven't tried it before but I love fresh new ideas!! Hopefully I can get my hands on some.

I haven't used this product, but I love the sample cards I am seeing and the ones I have seen. I think it would be fun to use it in my scrapbook pages and my cards! :)

I have been so tempted to buy some!!! I think I definitely will now that I have seen so many cute uses! I love the look of it! I love to see the samples by Randi...she uses her embellishments well!

margie c said...

I love the way Washi looks and adds so much to a project! I've only used it once, and was so happy to see how easy it was to use - and to use over and over again without it losing it's stickness! I must put it somewhere that is more accessible so I can remember to use ;) hee hee!
hugs, margie

its great for covering up a blooper. I'm sure I'll find lots moreways to use it :)

I am loving all the DT samples of how they use Washi tape. I have seen it but never been brave enough to try it. I would definately love to because it seems to be so versitile and I love the different coloring options it comes in. It can take the place of embellies and even design paper. I need to get my hands on some so I can experiment

Paula Irvine said...

I have been dying to try the washi tape but have had to delay because we are in the middle of a move! Maybe this giveaway will give me the chance! I would use it all over my cards and scrapbook pages to adorn them. Thanks for the chance!

orchid95 said...

Love it! Sometimes you need just a little bit of color but have used enough ribbons! OR Maybe want to be a "messy" so you whip out the washi and viola'... :o)

Anne-Lie said...

WOW! What a great and useful "thing"! I'd use the tape to make colorful backrounds and I'd chare it with my two daughters- as young as they are (5 and 7) they are already into cardmaking and scrapbooking and loving everything I bring home :o)

Toni said...

I'd love to try this tape (sucks being unemployeed). If I had this tape, I'd really love to try it on cards by "crinkling" it before applying it - or maybe even trying to make some flowers with it. Japanese papers and paper-like items are sooooo cool. I've also enjoyed seeing people use coordinating tapes to make backgrounds - cool idea ladies.

Erin said...

I love Washi tape. Everytime I use it I end up going crazy with it.

djones said...

Oh I just bought some of the washi tape from TGF. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!! I used it on a card and when I peeled it up to move it...it didn't damage my paper at all! I would like to make a funky background with it or just slap it on a card randomly and have it look creative.

Jean said...

Though I have never used it I have seen it used on this site and think I will be buying some in the very near future when my tree grows some more money!!!! but it is great looking...
