IMPORTANT CHA RELAY CONTEST UPDATE

Hello friends,

It's Jessica here again stealing someone's computer, heh heh :)

DUE TO A FEW UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, we have decided to END the CHA RELAY CONTEST effective immediately.

ANYONE PLAYING TODAY WILL receive the Prince Ian giveaway, but we are going to post him here on the blog so he will become a free digi.

Unfortunately we didn't expect such an overwhelming turnout, but we were thrilled to see it.   Most of our customers who participate in challenges average out to about 50-60 per week, and we are getting hundreds a day.

Because of the galleries crashing, and comments unfortunately being posted in the wrong place, some of you didnt receive your digis on time and although I apologize for this, I want to send a HUGE thank you to Mercy, Kim and Cindy for doing the VERY BEST they could to get them out to you.  Unfortunately they can't do anything w/ the hundreds of emails they received regarding the site being down, just as we've had very limited access while at CHA unfortunately.

PRINCE IAN will be available for FREE here on the blog later today (*I cannot post him here as I do not have the file with me at CHA, but we are working on getting it posted.)

***PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL Cindy, Mercy, or Kim regarding the PRINCE IAN digi.  He WILL be posted here on the blog as a FREE DIGI just as soon as we can get someone to post it for us.   ALSO, please do not email Jessica or Marie until Friday as we are not able to check our emails and just want you guys to have something fun to play w/ while we're away :)  THANK YOU SO MUCH for your understanding!!!

As a THANK YOU to all who have shown us tremendous support and understanding during our week away, despite the little glitches here and there, we have something VERY SPECIAL planed for you when we get back!!!

For now, just sit back, and whether you are crafting or not, we love ya and we'll see you soon!!!!

Thanks for you patience and understanding while we are growing our loved little Farm :)

Jessica :)

I'm sorry that you had to do this...I was having so much fun! I just finished my Prince Ian card.

I understand, but I sure hope people understand how hard it must have been for your volunteers to deal with such an overwhelming response.

I hope you'll be able to try something like this again in the future.

Sorry to hear about the relay's demise, but it must be exciting to see how many "hits" TGF has had, despite the site crashes! Thanks for a fun relay!

Awww - that really stinks! I'm sorry it didn't work out, but it's been a lot of fun. If there is anything I can do to help, you know where to find me. :)

What a shame - it has been something exciting to look forward to when I got home from work!
I understand your reasoning behind it all though and thank everyone who has worked hard to send out e-mails etc. Hope the other digi's you had planned will be available some other way and after the amount of fun I have had I hope to take part in future challanges! Thanks again and I hop it doesn't put you off doing something similar in the future. I am still going to go and make my Prince Ian Card just for fun!

Aaaaaaaw, what a shame (but cool that so many wanted to play!)
Thanks girls - it's been huge amounts of fun and you've all done a fab job :)

That is such a shame! I understand the crashing server problems, but really didn't think it was unclear which post comments needed to be applied to so it's too bad that is part of the reason as well. I'm so sad - this was the most fun I've had stamping in FOREVER! I've been in such a funk lately that it was the bright spot in my day - I think it can all be worked out and hopefully you and Marie are having a blast at Cha - looking forward to the fun stuff you have planned when you get back and hope that TGF has been a HUGE success there - how could it not be?! It's only the best stamp company out there! Be safe coming home. Off to find other challenges to keep this amazing mojo going! *hugs*

Well that stinks! I understand though, it must have been a lot of work for everyone to keep up with such an overwhelming thing. I'm still making my Prince Ian project. Can't wait to see what you have in store for when you return. Totally bummed that this is the end though... I finally got my mojo back!

I was having so much fun with the relay, so I'm sorry it had to be cut short. BUT I love the new superhero set that you showed on your CHA clip.

Lesley said...

It was a great idea and just unfortunate that the servers couldn't handle the influx of frantic stamp-crazy loons, LOL!

As far as the TGF team went, the instructions were more than clear, so I don't think they can be faulted for that. I think they did an excellent job of getting the "prize images" out to participants who played along. I would post my link before I went to bed and wake up to a gorgeous new digi-image in my inbox the next morning. Then I would spend the whole day at work daydreaming and planning out my card to make when I got home.

Thanks for getting me off my b*tt and back to my craft desk. It's been a blast!!!

Thanks for all i was having so much fun.

Aaw, that is a shame, but it was lots of fun while it lasted. The girls did a fantastic job with all the emails, it must have been a bit of a nightmare. I sure hope you hold another relay soon!

FionaJ said...

Ahhhh thats a shame, i've really enjoyed the daily challenge, and it has really kick started my crafting for the year, but I understand that its not fair on your helpers having to deal with the complaints, even though I thought the instructions were prefectly clear and more than managable. I've got my Prince Ian card almost finished so will post him up just to show how much I've enjoyed the relay.
I would just like to say a HUGE thankyou to the girls who have helped you out whilst you've been at CHA, sending them all big hugs from Sunny Scotland.
Can't wait to see whats next for TGF, keep up the fantastic work girls it is totally appreciated.

Oh Jess and company...I COMPLETELY understand! I kinda had a gut feeling this would happen though. I too saw on average a two handful amount of actual customers playing and knew this relay would get FLOODED! Sorry it had to end but I am so happy I was able to participate until now. a HUGE hugs to all who had a part in this...especially to the wonderful volunteers who busted their butts and got cut no slack. Maybe now the galleria wont crash...LOL! Thank you SO much for being this generous throughout. Gotta love me some Greeting Farm! :)

I'm so sad to hear this! This challenge has really sparked my mojo and I've been creating like a mad woman all week! I thank you for that! I also want to thank the girls who worked SO hard to get the images out to us, I can't even begin to image what it took to email each and every one of us every day! A full-time job plus overtime! This is an amazing idea and I do hope that it can be done again! It really was a lot of fun! Thank you and I can't wait to see what you have to share from CHA!
Hugs,

I can only imagine how hard it was for the girls to get the hundreds of digis emailed each day!! Must have been utter chaos! Thank you so much for doing that Mercy, Cindy and Kim! It is appreciated.
I am so bummed that it is over, though. I just got Toby uploaded and was planning my card for Prince Ian. I finally was enjoying creating again and was looking forward to the last digi and the bonus for playing in 5 days...
I understand why you had to stop it though. Thanks again for a super fun relay!297

Totally understandable! I am sure it was hard to babysit us all. LOL! I personally felt like all the rules were clear and specific. Maybe if there is ever something like this, we could link back to our blog post, this way the galleria wouldn't be so overwhelmed. I had an enjoyable time these past 4 digis - it was definitely worth the time invested! Not to mention lack of sleep trying to stay up to beat that Tammy Maxvill in posting. LMBO!!
Hugs and can't wait for the CHA news!

Sonya said...

I'm so sorry that this is the decision that had to be made.
The Digi Relay really was a blast and I was having so much fun.

I do completely understand that this is probably the best solution to all the problems that were going on. So many participants were not even following the very detailed rules set down befor the start of the relay.

Then your volunteers that were trying soo hard to keep up with what had to be a complete nightmare. I know I would have been in tears if I were them. In fact I left a message last night when I posted Toby Cub that they all deserve a bonus upon your return! They did a wonderful job and had every one followed the rules to the letter, I'm sure there job would have run much more smoothly.

I feel so bad for your poor volunteers I can only imagine what they must have been going through and then the e-mails they must have been receiving on top of the comments. Those lovely ladies really deserve a day of pampering, just like the Me Time Anya set! lol

Thank you so much for all the FREE digi's I personally received. I was able to participate and I have thus far received MerIan, Charlotte, Toby Cub and I am so happy that Prince Ian will be made available to all of us as well.

I look forward to your guys return. I of course cannot wait to hear all the details. I am waiting more impatiently now for the NEW February Release, especially now that you've let out that soldier Ian is part of that release. I was going to place an order this week and then decided I should wait to see what was being release for February, so glad I made that decision!

At least you guys can now sit back and just enjoy the CHA which will be a nice change instead of worrying about problems back at the farm. Have a safe trip home, drive safely and we look forward to your return to the farm.

We love and miss you all.

Big Hugs
Sonya

I am sorry that this happened. While I have no understanding of how servers work, ect- I understand they do crash. I appreciate that TGF allowed us to post in alternative galleries until such time as the server woudl accept the upload.

I thought the rules were clear and really enjoyed participating. It was fun to have something to work on after waork - it certainly got me motivated to use my "crop" room during the week.

Thanks to Mercy, Cindy, ect. for all their hard work in getting the digis out!

Wow -- I feel really bad about the relay ending! I worked really hard to get these cards in before working. I just posted my Prince Ian card and then noticed that someone had written the relay was over. I guess there were a lot of issues but to be honest, I didn't have any. I always got my card posted without difficulty and sent my messages and got the free digi from the hosts. It was a pleasant experience for me and I finally posted some cards to the gallery -- which may not have happened without such a great incentive!!!!

Thank you so much for the free digis, the fun and to the hosting crew that had to deal with all the fall out from whatever the issues were. I looked forward to each day and what it would help me create! Now I can look forward to whatever the surprise is next week!

Thank you, Marie and everyone else involved! Have a safe trip back!

What a shame - this has been so much fun! I expected it to be a little hard to make a card every day unprepared, so I was gladly suprised :P

I'm sorry you ended this because those reasons. If people post their link and e-mail in wrong post, they should read the rules over again and use their reason. Besides linking the card in galleria wasn't obligatory, so why is it a problem? People without blogs can use photobucket etc.

Thank you for your hard work to make this all happening! It has been amazing.

Melle said...

Oh, what a shame... I had so much more fun than I couls ever expected playing! I also thought just putting a link to our own blog (gallery for those without blogs) could help the crash problem. Ohhhh my.... I'm sad.... for many reasons! =( First of all, it's a shame this awesome CHA relay had to come to a stop, but I can completely understand. The crashing galleria wasn't an issue. Posting on blogs etc was just as easy. but RULES RULES RULES... They should have been followed... My biggest sadness in all of this is that while Marie & Jess are at CHA this is the last worry they should have had to contend with. You girls do so much for all of us!!! A Huge Thanks to you! =)
And dear sweet Mercy, Cindy & Kelly... You guys rock... you are the roughest toughest Farmers going, You've had to put up with an awful lot, and I just wanted you to know I appreciate EVERYTHING you've done to help make this possible!
I've had a BLAST with this, and it's all because of you girls being there holding the farm together while the bosses are out of town! Way to go!!! =)

You are all due for some much needed R&R...
I'm off to post my Prince Ian card on my blog, kind of lost my "zing" but eh... another day when I'm not so sad, I'll give it another shot.
Great Big Hugs

I'm not surprised that the Relay turned out to be so popular... who doesn't love TGF!!! But I can see that it was overwhelming and a bit confusing. Maybe you can try again with folks posting to their blogs or SCS or other galleries so that the TGF gallery doesn't crash... and have like 10 people ready to do emails! LOL

In any case, the Relay was fun and I LOVE the four images we do get to play with, especially Prince Ian. What fun!

Safe travels getting home, and we will be here, waiting for the big surprise! Me, I can't wait until the Feb 15th release to get my hands on those new stamps I was fortunate enough to see at CHA!!!!

Hugs,

I thought about these problems and came up with couple of suggestions:

When galleria is down, you get a message "This account is suspended." Does that refer to your account on hosting service? It seems scary, because one might think it regards one's own account in the TGF galleria.

How about using Mister Linky next time? Instead of your name, you could fill your e-mail address there. It would really be easier for you to keep track of who has gotten their next digi.

Hopefully you didn't give up on arranging relays!

I had fun creating cards with the stamps you gave us for the the relay. Sorry to hear it had to end, but it was fun. I finished Prince Ian card and posted it in the gallery.
Thanks again for all the stamps.

I think this has been a wonderful challenge. Even though I mis-read the initial instructions and posted in the wrong place. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing my friends blogs every day and seeing what they have come up with your images. So fun seeing the different takes people get. So thanks for all the hard work everyone put in.
