How about tickets to something that he enjoys. (ie: Hockey game or musical event.)
I think a gift card to a restaraunt would make a nice gift. They have some where you can pick from several places to cash it in.
I love this little guy. After all the Christmas cards, a spring rain card would be a nice change of pace!

AH, finding a gift for a man... such a difficult mission! I have done food, yes, food. I picked out his favorite candy and packaged it up all nice. Or once we did a picture of the grandkids in a really nice frame. Or something that goes with his favorite hobby; for example, I bought my grandpa a desk clock that looked like a golf cart since he LOVED golfing. I hope you find the right gift for your FIL! Adorable digi this week, and I LOVE your card Marie! I can't wait to see more!
Such a cute card! How about clothes? Everyone wears / needs them and if you picked something that's not his style, he can always wear it around the house :).
Oh I just love this little fellow. I have mainly guys in my family, so know how you feel. A nice book always goes down well with my bunch, or a favourite food item packaged with some extra little bits, nuts etc.
I'm doing hand-knit socks this year for all my close family members. :)
oh - and my hubby is getting an electric mattress heater, a guitar afficianado mag. subscription, a few cds, and a new pair of boots.

A good gift for a guy.... Hmmm Well me and my partner are too poor to buy each other presents this xmas! Last christmas he got a remote controled helicopter, he's into toys lol. I'd probably of gotten him another toy this year!
I have no suggestions for a dad-in-law, Food always seems to be a winner with anybody! Throw in some socks too, hehe.

Good gifts to give a guy - gift cards for gas, food, coffee, or their favorite sporting goods store. Travel mugs, scratch/lottery tickets, pajama/lounge pants....

Father in Laws are so hard to buy for. Mine needs nothing because he just goes and gets it if he does. I like to make him homemade cookies and I make him something with pictures of the kids...he loves the grandbabies!

I always go for a movie and some movie candy, popcorn, etc. for the guys. They're so hard to shop for!

You could always wrap some money in a huge box. Make up a GC basket...if to the movies then candy etc. Maybe a DS or handheld electronic game. We're all pitching in and getting ours an Ipod this year. Or how about a Wii.

FIL's are difficult -- I let my husband pick out stuff. Usually sports related items. Then I make sure there is a picture of the kids for him.
I never know what to get a guy for christmas. Usually its a gift card somewhere...but if its that special someone I'll cook dinner for him and get him something small!

I think those experience gifts are great where they can go off roading for the day r drive ferraris around a race track all day! Alternatively an ipod loaded with all their fave tunes or a lovely watch!

Hmmm...if it were your husband I would say a naughty nighty for yourself, LOL
BUT.... FIL...depends on his interests. Does he hunt...a GC for ammo would be great. other than that I would say anything consumable such as baked goods, a favorite candy or alcohol, if his health allows. If not, perhaps something he can do with your MIL, like a really nice dinner out or a play they would enjoy.

With guys, if they have a specific itnerest -- anything at all -- I try to get them something related. But yeah, they're hard! My husband is super-easy because he's into science fiction, hockey, astronomy and space sciences, etc. My dad is very difficult to buy for.

Gift for a guy? I guess it really depends on the guy! My hubby's birthday is close to Christmas, so I sometimes combine. This year, he is going away for a golf weekend for his gift. Gift cards are always a safe bet!

I think my FIL got some old movies.
This year.... I am clueless, FIL needs a sweat shirt according to MIL.. who knows.. Christmas shopping happens on Friday so I have time to figure this out.

I have issues with the same gifts. I always get my dad a gift card to either a tool shop or itunes or someplace to eat, he always loves that stuff and he can pick out exactly what he wants :)
You can never go wrong with a scarf, gloves and a warm hat.
Hmmm... Home Depot or Lowe's Gift Card, a nice bottle of wine, or maybe a gift card to an electronics store? My dad always insists on nothing, but cash does put a smile on his face!

gifts for guys is a hard one lol.... my dad is the guy that has everything!!! lol and the hardest person ever to shop for... this year my dad finished his library at teh house so I was thinking I would get hom some fancy leatehr books for it...but some gifts I have done in the past for other things he loved - i did a gift basket for a xmas party...with a DVD popcorn glass bottled cocacola, some movie candies and some cute plastic popcorn canisters (they are at target again for $1) you could make it up better by getting a few movies and his fav treats etc
my dad also likes hiking and camping and outdoorsy stuff so I have gotten him stuff like that in the past...
you really just have to go off what he likes, and try to be a little creative about the gift so its something new and different but truth is he will probably love it no matter what because it was something special from you...it is the thought that counts right. best of luck finding that perfect gift! hope youll share with us what it is when you figure it out ;)

A magazine subscription! Of course, each guy is different, but my guy loves farming magazines. It's one of the only things he won't get for himself and yet likes a lot.

Good gift for a guy - well, my dearly beloved LOVES watches and has quite a collection. On the less expensive side - those confounding geometric wooden puzzles that are impossible to put back together!
A good gift to give to a guy would be a gift card w/ a funny but bad card.
