A Farewell on Farm FRESH Friday...

Hello friends!

Thank you ever so for your Farmers Market orders and for ALL of your business. You are the success behind everything we do and it is always appreciated. So, I thought I'd crash here for our Farm Fresh Friday post while Marie is packing orders and chat with you for a while...

Before we get to this week's challenge and some heartfelt farewells, I want to congratulate Beth aka B-RT, the winner of Last week's "Emboss It" challenge! Here is her fabby card:Congrats Beth! Please email Jess as well and we'll get your prize right out to you!

We have a bittersweet FFF today, as it's time to say farewell to our beloved Summer Gardeners. We will trying to be sneaking in some of their cards this week on the TGF blog before the end of the month, but this is their last official FFF and boy, do these guys know how to ROCK a challenge or what? They rock the FARM!

That is why these goodbyes are always hard. While I am beyond excited to introduce our Fall Crop of Gardeners, it is without a doubt that TORI, MARY, SPARKLE, and KIM have brought more to the TGF Family than we could have asked for and we are SO thrilled that you spent your summer here on the Farm!

Well, as I mentioned, we have a fabulous line up today. We have a fun sketch for you by our friend and fellow Farmer, Cindy Haffner!Rules: Create a card or project using the above sketch. Post it in the Galleria > Contests/Challenges > Farm Fresh Fridays > Sketch by Cindy

Deadline:
Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Prize:
My GUY Ian plus the 3 Teen Digis by Janet McDonnell!

Here are some samples from the DT:

Cindy's sample:
Jessica

Kadie:
And, now, our BELOVED SUMMER GARDNERS:
Tori:Mary:
Sparkle:Kim:
We hope you enjoyed our lineup today! Can't wait to see you play along and we'll have a ton of fun announcing the winner next Friday after the OCTOBER RELEASES! Woo hoo!

So, question today...what is your favorite children's book? I got back from the book fair tonight and was happy to have picked up my copy of My Little Girl, a children's book by Tim Mc Graw with some AMAZING illustrations. Can you say got me teary eyed! Other than Alice in Wonderland, which is SO not a kids' book, I always love the Very Hungry Caterpillar ;)

It's hard to choose a favorite children's book! I have so many at home even though I don't have any kids, hee. But my favorite is and has always been Michael Ende's The Neverending Story. It's SO much better than the movie!

Fabulous line-up from the DT! A favorite children's book? That is so hard to narrow it down to just one! "Goodnight Moon" has always been a favorite in our home. My boys and the children in my preschool really love "Go Away, Big Green Monster". I'm a fan of Sandra Boynton. :)

Wow, the card with the locker is so clever, I love how the "mess" jumps right out at you!
My fave kids book? Dont get me started!!! Well for really little ones the cardboard book called "Piggies" by Don and Audry Wood is AMAZING for its artwork. The art itsself carries a whole other storey if you look closely...really closely. For young readers I love "Dreadful David" that little boy cracks me up. BUt my all time favourite since grade four would be "The true confessions of Charlotte Doyle" by Avi. Adventure on the high seas, a brave young heroine, a mutionus crew...aaahhhh. I have owned three copies, one of wich has disinegrated over the years. My second daughters name is even Charlotte.

Great cards!

Let's see my favorite children's book when I was growing up was Anne of Green Gables. My favorite one to read with my daughter now (and she is always asking me to read this one) is the very hungry catipillar. I never actually read this book until I purchased it from a book fair last year.

Rachel said...

I had different favorites before I had children. But reading to them changed that, the books they loved that made a special place in my heart were "Hug" and "There is a Monster at the end of this book" with Grover... My son was so entrenched he really believed there could be a monster this time. He was always on the edge of his seat, near tears... until the end.

I don't know what the title of the book is, but it was filled with different mini stories. I now have the book tucked away in a safe place because the cover is falling off.
